What are essential oils?
Essential oils are concentrated volatile, non-oily aromatic liquids which occur naturally in various parts of plants. They are composed of hundreds of different chemical components that vary from plant to plant. Each plant's unique combination of chemical components brings a unique set of healing benefits. Via topical use, essential oils are able to penetrate into the deepest layers of the skin, accessing our circulatory and lymphatic systems rapidly. By inhaling essential oils, they are also able to go directly to the brain via the olfactory nerve and respiratory system, bringing their therapeutic properties where it is needed the most.
